I'm interested in that answer too and it is listed in Dr. Sears book as unfavorable. 3/4 cup is a block of carbs. I was unable to pin down the glycemic index or load - I could only find info on cranberry juice. Here is a link to nutrition facts (except GI or GL)

I am unsure why they are considered an unfavorable carb. My best guess is that most people would not eat a "plain" cranberry by itself, that they would more likely sweeten them, as they are pretty sour by themselves.

On www.nutritiondata.com, a cup of whole cranberries is 12 grams of carb, 5 grams of fiber, for a net total of 7 grams of insulin-stimulating carb. The glycemic load is 2. Cranberries are high in potassium and high in vitamin C. They are also known to be good for urinary tract health.

That would be a good question for Dr. Sears....

Hi, Pam! Now, I would be pretty confident in saying that the craisins are unfavorable. There is a ton of sugar added to them for flavoring.

BTW, I haven't been to the cranberry fest up there, but I have been to the cranfest near Warrens. We are practically neighbors!
