...did I eat that donut? LOL! We had a new coffee house and donut shop open up near us (well 15 miles down the road). My hubby and I were on our way to a funeral on Saturday and we stopped for coffee and a donut. I simply wanted a glazed donut, but they were "all out", and so I easily bowed out. Next day, we were on our way back from church, and the kids wanted to try the donuts, and so we stopped in, but they were "all out" again. So, I was laughingly telling everyone at work that the donut shop basically saved me from myself! LOL However, once again having to travel through that town again today, I did stop in and was "lucky" enough (or not) to get a glazed donut. Fortunately, not too big, but I paid $1.95 for that ONE donut, which I was expecting to be the absolute BEST donut that I have ever had (better be, at that price). Well, it wasn't. Plus, besides being a very expensive donut, it also has kicked my butt OOZ! Well, at least I got that out of my system, now I can get back to the Zone! |

I so relate to this!!!! And, isn't it funny, how non-zone foods just doesn't taste that great really when we slip ooz ... and yet I think I buy into the perception that people around me have, that society at large seem to have, that those non-zone foods are to die for, etc ... I think I kind of absorb the attitude by omosis kind of and then I do fall off the ooz and then I find it's not really worth it ... nah. And I go back on ... A |

Great! :-) Makes a real difference doesn't it? I think we'll always slip ooz at times, need to forgive ourselves ... I used to beat myself up because I know better, but now I explore the reasons why I fell ooz and make plans for the next time so I don't fall ooz ...

couldn't agree more-- sometimes i get that feeling like i want to "cheat"--and every now and again, i do--but it is rarely worth it when i do fall ooz--i usually feel extremely tired and lethargic-- i also find myself starting to crave some of the zone meals -- which is heavenly once i have them. i take this as a good sign-- hopefully my memory patterns are starting to change from wanting and craving non nutritional items to nutritional items ))) |

Yes, I used to beat myself up over it, too. Have to be more forgiving! |

and need to forgive myself for having a few too many munchies during the Packer game tonight... and if I don't hit the sack soon, I will feel "sacked" in the morning like Jay Cutler feels tonight after being beat by my Packers! |

LOL. I ate 6 cookies at a social event myself ... But, it was the first time I started doing so in months ... so I'll be able to go back to the strict zoning ... which makes me feel so much better frankly, and tastes as good ... Hope you forgive yourself! I'm seeing that I go off the zone when I go to new social places (I had been sick and less social), so I am thinking to bring my own zone muffins, cookies, etc., to potlucks, etc., and even to the meditation place where they already have I can just offer a few muffins to others and then eat my own muffins obviously instead of the cookies!! I enjoyed some popcorn during the game. Yes, all forgiven now! I think that the muffins in place of the cookies is a great idea! I like making the blueberry muffins from oat flour, and making the miniature size works great for snacking and sharing with others. |

Miniature size makes sense, cranberrycat. Didn't realize you posted here. Sometimes I have a little trouble keeping up with what's going on here lol. A |
