I'm new here and will love to understand more the philosophy behing the Zone Diet.
Do you have to order the meals through them?
Is there a book about the Zone Diet that will guide you on how to use the diet and get good results?
    Please help

You could purchase Zone books, start with A Week In The Zone, then maybe Toxic Fat. There is a wealth of information on the zonediet site, start with...
    1. Go to the Zone Diet Body Fat Calculator on this site, enter ...it will tell you how many protein blocks you need to eat per day. here's the link... http://www.zonediet.com/Tools/Calcu...fault.aspx
    2. Go to the Quick Start Guide and read the Basic Zone Rules tab: http://www.zonediet.com/Tools/Quick...fault.aspx...">http://www.zonediet.com/Tools/Quick...lt.aspx...
    3. Check out the Meal Planner for some meal and snack examples: http://www.zonediet.com/EATING/7Day...fault.aspx
    4. Check out the Zone Food Blocks tab of the Quick Start Guide for foods that you can substitute into the meal and snack examples if you don't like or have the foods on hand:

    5. Use the "Search" feature in the upper right corner of the website to type in keywords for your questions -- it's amazing how much you can learn from that! For example, I typed in "hunger adjustments" and got a ton of info on how to adjust my foods and blocks to extend the periods between hunger.

    Thanks for the response.
I went to Amazon and read some reviews on the books out there and one of the reviews talked about Matering the Zone as one of the best books out there if you really want to jump right into it.
So do you recommend that I start with the "A week in the zone" or "Mastering the Zone"?

They're both good, I would start with A Week in the Zone, it's a great paperback reference, easy to cary around with you to use any time you have a question(pub 2000). Then read Mastering the Zone is also a great read, it's a little older (pub 1997). The Zone is ever evolving, we learn more about science everyday. I really recommend reading all the books. You will see suttle changes from book to book as we learn more. I hope that helps.

    Ok.
After doing all the calculations it came out that I need 12 blocks of Protein, 12 of Carb and 12 of Fat. I guess this means that I can distribute them like this:

    Breakfast
    3 Blocks of Protein
    3 Blocks of Carb
    3 Blocks of Fat

    Mid Morning Snack
    1 Block of Protein
    1 Block of Carb
    1 Block of Fat

    Lunch
    3 Blocks of Protein
    3 Blocks of Carb
    3 Blocks of Fat

    Mid Afternoon Snack
    1 Block of Protein
    1 Block of Carb
    1 Block of Fat

    Dinner
    4 Blocks of Protein
    4 Blocks of Carb
    4 Blocks of Fat

Yes, that would work. You could also have a 3-block dinner and then save the last snack for bedtime.
