Hello, I´ve been in the zone for eight years, improving my discipline always and now I get to a point that I question ¿am I obsessed with the zone? I don´t want to get out of the zone at anytime, I´m happy with it and always thinking it helps me perform better at my job and my every day demands. I feel weird staying always in the zone when everywhere the food is prepared for the opposite ¿what do you think? Grateful for you advice |

Hi Ernesto -- I think it's great that you've been in the Zone for so long! I can completely understand your "obsession", and I think it's a healthy one. I feel better than ever when I'm in the Zone -- not just physically, but mentally. I often say to people, that even when I was still very overweight but in the Zone, I felt fantastic. And now, at my healthy weight, if I'm not in the Zone, I don't feel well physically nor mentally. For a lifetime, I thought that I wouldn't be happy until I was "thin". Now I realize that I'm happiest when I'm eating foods that keep me healthy and balanced -- and becoming "thin" is something that happens along the way :-) .

Hi Ernesto, I've been in the Zone for 15 years and I do not want to leave the Zone at any time either. I'm not obsessed with it. I choose to stay in the Zone for all the obvious reasons such as feeing great, staying lean, lowering inflammation, improving my health, etc. I don't think about it day and night, I just do it naturally. Here's the Wictionary definition for obsession: "1.A compulsive or irrational preoccupation. 2.An unhealthy fixation." If those definitions fit you then maybe technically you are obsessed with the Zone (if so, I can't think of a better obsession!). But from your posting, it sounds more like your question might be prompted by a little bit of something like peer pressure, or maybe a little self doubt. Dancing to the beat of a different drummer is to your credit when it comes to the Zone. Kudos to you for having the courage and conviction to continue to successfully to eat this way and live the Zone lifestyle when "everywhere the food is prepared for the opposite"! |

You´re right, you do what you know it´s right and you should never doubt, I just would like people to eat healthier and stop looking at you weird when you´re with a glass of water and they´re with a giant cola, there´s so much to be done to educate people on how to eat... |

Recently I had lunch with my boss for the first time, and when we sat down at the office cafeteria, she whips out a scale and measuring cups from her tote bag, and weighs and measures her meal. She looks naturally thin to me, but lost a lot of weight and has maintained her weight loss for over 15 years. Not on the Zone, but on another program that works for her. I so admire her for knowing what works for her, and having no concerns about what others think when she does what she has to do to stay healthy and happy. I aspire to do the same :-) .

I've only been in the zone for 3 weeks and I love it. I dont see it as an obsession, more like a daily rutine And I feel great! |
