I'm wondering, because i have a friend doing a low carb program, not the zone, that uses the keto stix and says that if its purple your burning fat. I've been doing the zone for 3 months now (by the way i love it) and tried doing a keto stix this morning but it was negative. So now i wonder, is that a measure of being in the zone or not. Should the turn purple in the WOE, an explanation would be helpful, a did a search and didn't find this answer on the site anywhere, so if it is a redundant question I apologize ahead of time. Thanks

HI Jules-
If you are doing the Zone right you should not be in Ketosis. I think that the general concesus is that is an unhealthy weight loss strategy for long-term maintenance and health. So, I think that it is GOOD that the stick didn't turn colors.
The ZONE is the proper and healthy way to lose weight/fat. And an excellent diet for long-term maintenance :D

Thanks Michelle!
For your timely answer! Then I too am glad it didn't turn purple!! I truly love this woe, and can adapt it wherever i go!! I started this to loose weight, and i have and that has been my goal, but for me the Zone has turned out to be so much more!! I love the way i feel!! I don't get the ho humms anymore, i have tons of energy, i feel peppy and perky 90 percent of the time. Also i don't find myself bouncing around the kitchen in search of that perfect thing that will satisfy me! The only time i spend in there now is either to clean it (boo hiss) or when its time to prepare meals. |
