According to Zone philosophy, you could safely take up to 400 IU of vitamin E (as alpha-tocopherol) a day if you take fish oil. I really don't know are quantities of fish oil and vitamin E in relationships, but it seams to me that they are. If you consume more fish oil, more ROS your body produces, so more antioxydants is needed to prevent them to destroy activated EFA and even body tissues. More research is needed on that topic. 1 g of pharmaceutical-grade fish oil (PGFO) is not a big dosage at all (recommended is 2,5 g EPA&DHA/day), and 200-400 IU of good-quality vitamin E should be ok. I would take 500 mg of good-quality vitamin C (with bioflavonoids) and some antioxydant-formula as well. In addition, take good extra-virgin olive oil as your source of monounsaturated EFA and powerful antioxydant and antiinflamatory food as well, as it protects PGFO from oxydation, i.e. attack of free radicals. And of course, have your meals Zone-balanced and excersise according to Zone principles:-)
