On my recent SIP test my Arachadonic Acid was 9.1 - How can I reduce this, and what is the proper level?

you shuold take 2,5 g/day of fish oil. In adition I think is impotant to take some antioxidants in order ti prevent autooxidations problems with omega-3. For instance, you cuold take omega-3, vitamin E (200 UI) and vitamin C plus acetylcysteine. And its very important to take a complex of vitmain B12 and salts, as Mn, Co, Cu, Mg, Se... All these substances are antioxidants, and its very important the combination of vitamin C and aceylcysteine in order to stimulate glutathione synthesis.

Hi Farmermiah, The ideal ratio is between 1.5 and 3. My advice would be to take at least 5g of Omega RX fish oil daily, which would be 2 tsp. liquid or 8 capsules (you may need even more), and strictly follow the Zone diet. You might get more precise dosage info in the book the [i:dee74e0b45]Omega RX Zone[/i:dee74e0b45] by Barry Sears.[/color:dee74e0b45]

As Slknorr indicate, 5 g/day is a good dose. I would take two times 2,5 (morning and evening) and 200 UI vitamin E each time you take 2,5 g of fish oil. My plan could be: Morning 1 gr Vitamin C + 400 mg or 600 mg acetylcisteine + salts complex 2,5 g omega-3 + 200 UI vitamin E Evening 2,5 g omega-3 + 200 UI vitamin E And remember that a good diet habits is very important

Dr. Sears advice is that there's no need to split one's daily FO dose. The exception would probably be very large doses, but 5g daily would not be in the category of a very large dose.[/color:177c2cf5e2]
