Hi all, I started the Zone diet a couple weeks ago, not for the aim of losing weight, but for all the other amazing health benefits that Dr. Sears outlines in his books. And so far, I love it!! My energy level has doubled and I no longer have those afternoon coma sessions...hallelujah! My first question relating to anti-aging is, I have heard that some people have experienced a return of hair color (i.e., gray hair turning dark again) with oral intake of fish oil. Has anyone out there had a similar experience that they want to share? Relatedly, I have heard claims that fish oil shampoos can help return color to hair as well as taking supplements orally. Does anyone know, could there be any science behind this claim or is it just another internet scam to avoid? Here is my other question: I just read on another posting that Dr. Sears is no longer affiliated with the ZonePerfect website. Unfortunately, I already placed an order through the site for Fish Oil capsules, and supposedly they are "molecularly distilled" as strongly suggested by Dr. Sears. Can anyone tell me if this product is up to par, or if I should go out of my way to return the product and re-order from Dr. Sears' "Zone Labs" site? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

(IFOS = International Fish Oil Standards program). If for some commercial interest they are not listed on the website, the manufacturer should be able to provide a certificate of testing, or something like that.[/color:5366f32adf]

Here is an entry I found in the "Past Questions" section of this site, referring to the restoration of hair color: ******************************************* "Hair color" In a recent New England Journal of Medicine there was an article about an unexpected side effect from a drug called Gleevec (by Swiss drugmaker Novartis), which is used to treat adult forms of leukemia: Color was being restored to gray hair. How might the eicosanoids be implicated in this happening? Might high dose pharmaceutical fish oil have the same "side effect" over time? Conning The restoration of hair color is one of benefits that many people observe with high-dose fish oil. This is probably due to the increased production of melanin caused by increased cyclic AMP, as I described in ?The Anti-Aging Zone.? Dr. Barry Sears ******************************************* This is the first time I've heard of *any* natural agent restoring hair color, and it made me extremely excited as my hair turned gray very prematurely (early 20's) as a result of trauma  and I always felt like I lost my color way too soon. So here's hoping it may have a positive effect :? Here's to oh-so-cautious optimism...! But either way, I'm really glad I finally found the Zone diet - finally something that makes sense to me... Cheers!
