I really love steamed veggies, but i find them a bit bland without some spices. Can I use fat-free spray 'butter' on my veggies without consdiering it part of my fat blocks? Or fat-free half n' half in coffee?

I do but others will tell you its unfavorable probably! To me, as long as its a little bit, its better to have a little more flavor and be able to continue eating this way. butter is 1/3 pat = 1 fat, so 1 pat would be 3 fats and I do that some times. Even Dr. Sears says you can eat 25% of your meal unfav.! Now you probably shouldnt do that every meal, especially if there is a concern about cholesterol, etc.. I'd check the butter spray for other things you shouldnt have like trans fats , etc. too. I'd just rather have the real thing, as in butter, than to mess with a spray.

AND, on counting them? I'd say it depends on how much you are using. If you're using 1/4 cup of FF Half and Half over the course of the day in your coffee then I'd count it somewhere as 1/2 carb and 1/2 protein blks. If we're talking a splash as in maybe a teaspoon or two each time and you only have a couple of cups of coffee.....then I wouldnt count it at all. Same with the spray, if you're using a teas. or two I'd count it as unfav. fat. If its just a light spray, I wouldnt count it.

These are, of course, only my opinions, as a Zoner not a professional!

Dena, just thought of something else...........have you tried any of the Mrs. Dash seasonings? They can be sprinkled on the veggies for extra flavor too. There are several combinations but I like the Garlic Herb.
