Please tell me what you all think of Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat Blend Pasta. The box says it contains ALA Omega 3 and is an excellent source of fiber. Here are the particulars:

2oz serving size

180 calories

2g total fat
1.5g polyunsaturated fat

41g total carbohydrates
6g dietary fiber

7g protein

This sounds like 1F, 4C and 1P. Could still add oil and grated parm cheese to round it out or maybe a little bit of sauce.

Do you see anything here that says this shouldn't be zoned?

Thanks,
Rich

What tells you these are unfav carbs? I want to be able to determine that by reading the label myself.

cool, I'm about to learn something else today

41 total carbs, 6 of which are Fiber....Its like a 7 to 1 ratio bad to good. The rest are simple sugars(AKA Bad!)
You want close to a 1:1, 1:2 or even a 1:3 ratio.
Hope this helps!

so the higher percentage of fiber to the total carbs, the better? and total carbs should'nt be so high (e.g., 41) for a single serving?

thanks a lot Christopher, that does help

Have an excellent weekend!
Rich

Highly processed wheat (wheat flour) = unfav carb. :)

Richard, you are better off trying the new Zone pasta, although that is IMO considered an unfavorable carb, as well.

Or, you can try Dreamfields pasta--has more fiber and less insulin-stimulating carb.

I'm off to a major shopping expedition in a few minutes
