[quote:d1c382f60c="gofish"]I have tried out these bars according to the standard way of testing Zone foods. I was hungry in half the time with the Zone Perfect bars (even though I liked the taste). I wanted them to work (at less than half the cost) but I could not make them work for me. So for me they are inferior. If you have tested them in the standard Zone way and have a different experience, then by all means give your results for the benefit of others. I have seen a post on the GI values of several different bars. Zone Labs and Hershey's bars had far lower values than the others. Many people may be able to eat a higher GI snack and not feel any ill effects. So to that I say, "Let them eat cake".[/quote:d1c382f60c] Just the other day (Tue), I was at Target, and picked up a couple of the new Hershey SmartZone bars. Though listed at their usual $1.09, they rang up at $0.55! Maybe, somehow, the bar code on them is associated with christmas items, and I got them fo 50% off!??? Who knows, but I am going back tomorrow and get a lot more to have for my upcomming annual (boring) business trip.

I bought more than the few I planned on (8 dozen!). I also got a 10% discount on top of that with the Target Visa card. I guess that Hershey is finally running a promotional to get people to notice and try them out. :D

I've read a lot of posts about Dr. Sears leaving his former company, ZonePerfect (Eiotech). This isn't the first company he has left since introducing the world to the Zone. Envion was the first company. They sold "biozone" bars. I thought the honey peanut tasted like "bit o honey" candy bar, so I really liked the bars. During the time that he was with this company, the biozone bar changed ingredients. Each new "generation" bar was to be an improvement over the former. I was a "marketing associate" for this company back in 1995, but broke ties with it before Dr. Sears left. I assume it doesn't exist anymore, but I don't really know. Anyway, I don't see what the fuss is about-so he left a company, big deal, not the first time.
