"IFOS – THE TOP GLOBAL PURITY STANDARD FOR OMEGA-3 FROM FISH"

Zone Labs products show no detectable lead or mercury when tested down to 10ppb, which is 10 times below the Norwegian Medicinal Standard and European Pharmacopoeia Standard limits.

Zone Labs products are three times fresher than the minimum allowed by the Norwegian Medicinal Standard and European Pharmacopoeia Standards (based on average peroxide values).

Zone Labs starts with only wild, small fish from pristine Chilean waters and ends with proprietary validation and testing processes to achieve an IFOS certified 5 star rating.

8-Step Manufacturing Process - Quality Assured

Testing to specification all raw materials, bulk products, packaging material and finished products – always using stringent internal standards and in-process testing.

  1. Extraction of fish oil
  2. Winterization – remove limited amounts of saturated fats
  3. Absorption – remove heavy metals
  4. Preliminary Molecular Distillation – refining “touch up” to reduce contaminants
  5. Oil conversion to ethyl esters
  6. Ethyl ester thermal fractionation – remove additional saturated fats
  7. True Molecular Distillation – final refining to remove pcb’s and long-chain monoenes
  8. Rigid Processes – proprietary validation, inspection and encapsulation methods. Independent lab verification of IFOS requirements and certified 5 star rating

Clean Sources

No farmed fish. No large fish. Pristine waters.

Zone Labs starts with wild sardines & anchovies fished from cold, pristine waters off of South America where there are less environmental impurities.

A recommended serving of Zone Labs Ultra-Refined Concentrates delivers 8 times more omega-3’s than a typical retail fish oil supplement.

Most fish oil supplements have 30% or less of the healthy omega-3s EPA and DHA, with the remaining 70% of the capsule containing unbeneficial, lesser refined fatty acids that contribute to their bad taste and gastric side effects.

Getting a clinically valid dose of omega-3’s is easy with Zone Labs’ Ultra-Refined Omega-3 Concentrates.

Typical Retail Dose = 300mg omega-3

Standard Zone Dose = 2400mg omega-3

Exceptional Antioxidant Capacity

SeaHealth Plus and Polyphenol Plus delivers unique, state-of-the-art, broad-spectrum fruit derived antioxidants with very high ORAC values. Each product contains a proprietary blend of fruit extracts and concentrated powders to provide the ultimate in antioxidant protection.

ORAC Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity quantitatively measures the ability of foods, blood plasma and other substances to subdue oxygen free radicals. The Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) assay and various High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) methods are used to characterize and quantify the levels of antioxidants in foods.

Why do Plants contain Highly Potent Antioxidants?

During the process of photosynthesis (the conversion of sunlight to energy), a large number of free radicals are produced. Plants require a high concentration of antioxidants to protect themselves against cellular damage. Plant pigments, primarily carotenoids and flavonoids, are largely responsible for this protection. Research has shown that ingestion of these compounds by humans may result in similar protection. Research also shows that a variety of antioxidants can work synergistically together and are far more effective than a single antioxidant compound.

ORAC Equivalents

• ½ Cup serving of fresh fruit contains anywhere from 200-1,300 ORAC units depending on the fruit selected. The average American serving of fruits or vegetable can provide as little as 300 ORAC units.

• One serving of SeaHealth Plus (1 oz.) or one serving of PolyPhenol Plus (1 capsule) contains approximately 1600 ORAC units.

Benefits of Aloe Vera in SeaHealth Plus

Aloe Vera

There have been a number of aloe vera research articles written. Aloe is a member of the lily family and is cultivated in warm climates. There are 300 identified species, but aloe vera ("true aloe") is the most popular for medicinal applications. It is also known as Aloe vera L. and Aloe Barbadensis. The plant has yellow flowers and triangular, fleshy leaves with serrated edges that arise from a central base that can grow several inches long. Each leaf is composed of three separate layers.

Aloe vera is an excellent nutritional supplement. The aloe leaf naturally consists of approximately 75 nutrients and 200 biologically active compounds, including minerals, amino acids and numerous vitamins. Aloe vera is a nutritional powerhouse and more people are realizing and enjoying its promising health benefits! Zone Labs utilizes high quality, independently certified aloe vera as the liquid base in SeaHealth Plus. Aloe vera is a natural oxygenating botanical with many nutritionally supportive properties and acts as a biological vehicle to aid penetration and absorption of the naturally occurring nutrients found in SeaHealth Plus.

What makes Aloe Vera work?

This is a very common question and can be answered by pointing out all of the various anti-inflammatory components, including several glycoproteins, salicylates, vitamins and minerals, as well as, a number of other substances that stimulate healing. Very few plants are as well known or as highly thought of as the aloe vera plant. Aloe vera use is recorded throughout history and is known world-wide for its natural healing properties.

The aloe vera plant has natural anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties that naturally supports and promotes cell growth and aids healing. Additionally, aloe vera contains a whole host of vitamins and minerals, including Manganese, Magnesium, Calcium, Sodium, Copper, Potassium, Chromium, Zinc, Iron, Choline, Vitamins B1, B2, B6, B12, C, Beta Carotene (Vitamin A), Niacinamide (Niacin), and Folic Acid. It also contains various Amino Acids, Enzymes and natural sugars called Polysaccharides. Studies have demonstrated that aloe vera can be taken orally to help support the immune system promote a calmer sense of well-being.

Internally, aloe vera has noted healing effects on problems in the mouth, gums and throat. Also it is found to help with stomach disorders, acidity, indigestion, gastritis and ulcers. The bottom line is, whether you call aloe vera "Nature's Healing Pharmacy," or any other similar moniker, it is beneficial and if processed with care, naturally supports natural health.

Aloe Vera Bioavailability Research

Recent groundbreaking research sponsored by the International Aloe Science Council (IASC) concludes that aloe vera dramatically increases levels of antioxidant Vitamins C and E in the bloodstream by more than 200% when consumed while taking these vitamins.

In addition, levels of these health-preserving vitamins remain elevated for 24 hours and provide an outstanding natural time-release effect. The study also concluded that aloe vera can enhance the bioavailability of both water and fat soluble vitamins.

The results of this bioavailability research study strongly supports Dr. Sears decision to utilize aloe vera, sea vegetables and fruit based antioxidants to create SeaHealth Plus. (Source IASC Press Release September 28, 2004).

Biological Activity

IASC certification is admirable and has been needed for a long time; but it doesn't guarantee retention of biologically active polysaccharides in aloe vera. Certification has created a level playing field and is good for the consumer. However, scientists generally agree that retention of the medium to higher molecular weight polysaccharides enhance the biological activity found in aloe vera. In fact, the polysaccharide synergism, so notably present in aloe, is allowed to achieve its highest potential in the 50,000 to 100,000 molecular weight range.

Zone Labs utilizes aloe vera that has broken the traditional methods of processing and has patent (pending) harvesting and production processes so it can guarantee a retention of medium weight polysaccharides (those in the 50,000-100,000 mw or dalton range). Illustrated below are the results of work completed by Univera Pharmaceuticals Inc. showing immune restoration (% recovery) for varying molecular weights of aloe vera polysaccharides. Due to our aloe vera refinement to 50,000 - 100,000 mw range, it is important to note the 75% restoration of the medium molecular weight polysaccharides as present in the Zone Labs aloe vera.

Nearly all aloe vera products on the market that have been over processed, degraded or mishandled and fall into the 1,000 - 50,000 mw range (mostly in the 1,000-5,000 mw). These aloe vera products have lost the majority of the immune restoration capability of the raw aloe. Additionally, the higher molecular weight polysaccharides (more indicative of extracts of acemannen) do not provide the immune restoration support of the medium molecular weight polysaccharides.

SeaHealth Plus Independent Certification

The International Aloe Science Council (IASC) developed the certification program to allow aloe vera supplement manufacturers to submit their facilities and finished products to a series of rigorous tests and audit programs, which, if the product passes, would allow for the certification of the product and the display of the IASC authorized Seal of Certification on all product labels and literature.

Zone Labs goes a step further than many companies and commissions the International Aloe Science Council to certify that SeaHealth Plus is manufactured according to strict CGMP’s and meets and exceeds our label claims.

Zone Labs is proud to announce that SeaHealth Plus and our manufacturing facility has undergone IASC testing and manufacturing audits and has been awarded IASC Certification. Zone Labs believes this is vital as the IASC certifies that SeaHealth Plus contains everything in the proper proportions according to our label.

The IASC Nutritional Product Seal of Certification assures that:
The Company represents truth in labeling.
The Company represents the quantity in aloe content.
The Company represents the quality of aloe meets current IASC standards.
The Company represents that the aloe used in the product comes from IASC certified sources.

What is Certified Aloe Vera?

The International Aloe Science Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the aloe vera industry. The International Aloe Science Council certifies the purity of aloe vera to ensure a more effective product that incorporates all of aloe vera’s natural benefits such as anti inflammation, wound healing and cellular health support. IASC certification requires continual analytical testing to assure that all of the essential components in aloe vera are present, such as, phytonutrients, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, enzymes and polysaccharides. Zone Labs utilizes only IASC certified aloe vera to assure the presence of aloe vera’s natural biological components. IASC certified aloe vera is the “gold standard” of the aloe vera industry.

The IASC conducts stringent tests in establishing the standard of purity for aloe vera. Zone Labs is proud that SeaHealth Plus exclusively utilizes IASC certified aloe vera.

Benefits of Sea Vegetables

What Do Sea Vegetables Provide?

Zone Labs is dedicated to the research, development and production of superior sea vegetable source and nutritional supplements. Our philosophy is based on recent scientific advances in understanding the molecular basis of mineral uptake in plants and human trace mineral nutrition requirements. We believe that sea vegetables support and nourish the body with pure plant based nutrients, to help maintain and support optimum health and well-being.

Inorganic mineral salts and chelates are inexpensive sources of trace elements. However, they are poorly bioavailable and may exhibit secondary interactions.

Ocean water naturally enhances sea vegetables’ plant mineral uptake through its natural ionic medium. The result is a concentration of important trace elements in a form the body recognizes and utilizes. The nutritional health benefits from trace mineral elements are becoming clearer as scientific journals report the latest findings. These all point to one direction: the best source for these nutrients are plants. Modern food systems no longer provide optimal amounts of essential trace elements. Zone Labs is now providing an answer to this bottleneck in human nutrition, through our exclusive blend of mineral rich sea vegetables.

The body requires major and trace minerals to maintain good health. Fresh fruits and vegetables are good sources of nutrients, but may contain relatively low levels of essential minerals. Even vegetables traditionally believed to be high in mineral content may not provide adequate dietary concentrations when consumed in normal sized portions. The testing of plant minerals through sequential extraction and by using simulated gastric and intestinal fluid digestions indicated higher bioavailability of plant minerals than the amount available to the body in conventional mineral supplements. The consistent, high concentration of available minerals in sea vegetable tissue supplies these elements in a natural, vegetable source the body can recognize and utilize.

SeaHealth Plus provides natural trace elements in a pure plant form. These are not inorganic minerals, nor yeast based products or synthetic chelates. Our sea vegetables naturally contain mineral and nutritional contents similar to conventional foods in regard to ratios but at higher concentration levels. These levels are sufficient to provide a daily supplement of optimal value.

The purity, integrity and complete form in which the vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes are extracted from the sea vegetables and then blended with the other pure ingredients in SeaHealth Plus is among its greatest assets. Is it any wonder that an extremely pure, wholefood, form of sea vegetables such as those found in SeaHealth Plus is of such tremendous value to our health and well-being?

Today, there are literally thousands of vitamin, mineral, amino acid and enzyme supplements in almost countless combinations. We need only to reflect on the fact that even the most brilliant biochemist, with years of formal education, cannot even begin to duplicate, synthesize, blend and balance or even closely approximate or resemble the intricate, precise and ideal levels and balance of nutrients as found in their pure, natural forms. These forms that have evolved with us as human beings over the ages in their natural balance. SeaHealth Plus maintains nature’s perfect balance and integrity.

The trace minerals and nutritional elements found in SeaHealth Plus are highly absorbable by the body and play a very important role in supporting a healthy state within our bodies.

Sea Vegetable Sources

Zone Labs chose a blend of sea vegetation to effectively utilize the diversified benefits of different varieties. This is important since research has clearly demonstrated that the nutritional properties of sea vegetation as with land vegetation differ between varieties. There are more than 1700 varieties of sea vegetation, with the main groups commonly classified according to their predominant color.

Brown Sea Vegetation: This group is normally found and harvested in cold ocean waters. The best known of this classification would be the kelps. They are generally found to grow in enormous beds reaching toward the surface of the water. So fantastic is their growing ability, deriving nutrients from the mineral rich waters and the sun, that when harvested, the root plant has the ability to repair and grow an average of six inches per day!

Red Sea Vegetation: This classification is generally a deep-water variety, which can be found 200 feet below the surface. Red sea vegetation prefers deeper, shadier locations than brown sea vegetation and researchers attribute their color to the subdued light that barely reaches deep waters. Red sea vegetables are rich in carotenes and valuable nutrients.

Green Sea Vegetation: This form of sea vegetation most closely resembles green leafy vegetables. Green sea vegetation is much smaller in size compared to the brown and red varieties of sea vegetation, but has an equally impressive nutrient content. Green sea vegetables live and flourish from the plentiful sunlight and nutrients in the sea. Sea vegetables convert inorganic minerals to organic minerals, which in the proper form can be utilized by the body.

Sea Vegetables have Superior Nutritional Content

Sea vegetables transmit the energies of the sea to your body as a rich source of nutrients. Ounce for ounce, along with herbs, they are higher in vitamins and minerals than many other foods. Sea vegetables are one of nature's richest sources of vegetable protein. They provide full-spectrum concentrations of beta carotene, chlorophyll, enzymes, amino acids and dietary fiber. The distinctive taste is not just "salt," but a balanced, chelated combination of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and trace minerals.

Sea vegetables convert inorganic ocean minerals into organic minerals that combine with amino acids. Our bodies use this combination as an ideal way to obtain usable nutrients for structural building blocks. In fact, sea vegetables contain the necessary trace elements for life, many of which are depleted in the Earth's soil.

They are believed to have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antimicrobial, antifungal, and anticancer activity. Modern science validates many of the traditional benefits of sea vegetables, especially their algin, the element thought to be responsible for sea vegetables success in treating obesity, asthma and atherosclerosis. Algin absorbs toxins from our digestive tracts much the same way that a water softener removes the hardness from tap water. Theoretically, fewer toxins may enter the bloodstream due to algin's activity.

Sea vegetables are among the most nutritionally dense plants on the planet. They utilize the nutrients in the ocean, acquiring nourishment across their entire surface through wave action and underwater currents. Sea vegetables are rich in fiber and packed with vitamins, and a broad range of carotenes. Sea vegetables are among the finest non-animal sources of vitamin B-12 for cell development and nerve function. They contain amino acids, up to 20% protein, active enzymes and essential fatty acids to provide nutritional support. Sea vegetables contain 10 to 20 times the minerals of land plants, and beyond their mineral quantities, their mineral balance is a natural stabilizer for building sound nerve structure and good metabolism. Sea vegetables’ iodine, for example, helps to naturally prevent gland disorders like breast and uterine fibroids, prostate inflammation and adrenal exhaustion.

Sea Vegetable Based Mineral Elements

Minerals are essential for good health. The body utilizes minerals for maximum function. Because many of our plants and soils are nutrient depleted, even if we eat the healthiest foods, we may not be receiving all the minerals our bodies require. Evidence of mineral malnutrition are various minor to serious health conditions such as energy loss, premature aging, diminished senses and degenerative diseases like osteoporosis, heart disease and cancer. In many cases, these may be prevented with proper dietary supplementation

Every living cell depends on minerals for proper structure and function. Minerals are needed for the formation of blood and bones, the proper composition of body fluids, healthy nerve function, proper operation of the cardiovascular system, among others. Like vitamins, minerals function as coenzymes, enabling the body to perform its functions including energy production, growth and healing. Since all enzyme activities involve minerals, they are essential for the proper utilization of vitamins and other nutrients. Nutritionally, minerals are grouped into two categories: bulk or essential minerals, also called macro minerals, and trace minerals or micro minerals. Macro minerals such as calcium and magnesium are needed by the body in larger amounts. Although only minute quantities of trace minerals are needed, they are, nevertheless, important for good health. Micro minerals include boron, chromium, iron, zinc and many others. Sea vegetables are among the finest and safest natural sources of micro and macro minerals.
