Hi, Has everyone seen all the new info on Manuel's page of this site? There are photos, videos, weight loss stats and even his daily menu. He is certainly an inspiration to all! Like Dr. Sears says in one of those videos, if he can do it you can do it! The link to Manuel's page is at the top of the home page. Also, here's the address: http://www.zonediet.com/OurFaithfulZonerManuelUribe/tabid/181/Default.aspx |

I hear people ask how anyone could ever get in Manuel's condition. Personally I think it would be very easy, at times I put my self in the same condition I guess. You figure life is short, you enjoy eatting, and theres not much to live for, so why not be Happy and do what you love, eat. I know thats not a good prospective, but sometimes thats what happens. I guess you might have to be in that position before you know what its like. No one wants to be fat, unattractive looked down upon. But when you hurt so bad to just move, to walk especially, you look forward to what your going to eat next, and it just builds and builds. I think Manuel has taken the right steps to finding the answer, thats why I am here, to find the answer. I wish I could hold his hand and we could help each other. I guess you could call us both like newborns, we never was shown the right way to eat. I grew up on corn bread, potatoes, and beans, biscuits and gravy. My parents never knew of the right way to eat. What we had for our main meal, we ate that all evening. We never had snacks back then, oh my snack was soda crackers smeared with butter. I dont ever recall seeing fruit in the house. So I ate what was put in front of me. As I got older thats how I ate, out of control not caring what I ate. Now here I am at 57 and trying to learn a new way. So Manuel I am here with you, and lets hope by the Grace of God and Dr. Sears we can rebuild our health. Love Ya Guy! |

Patti, I have faith that you will find in the zone the best way to be healthy and lose weight.... I myself am a compulsive eater so i know how much food can take contrl over your life, especially if youre not at your happiest point... I was never a real fat kid, my highest was 160 at 5'5 (3 yrs ago), now i am 135 and still hoping yo lose more weight.. I got back in the zone about 1 and a half months ago and although i only lost 3 lbs i feel great, with much more energy and excited about this journey ahead of me. All I can tell you is that when you have a goal you have to work for it and not give up... as my mom always tells me "just live it God, have confidence in him and he WIll take cae of you"... Stay positive and dont let little rocks on your path get in the way of achieving your goal... We are all in this together!!! so if you have questions, need help, or just want to chat ... we are here for you!
Good luck!!! |

I too am a binge eater Patti. I also grew up in the South. So yes I do like sweet potatoes, sweet cornbread, and rice with gravy. The ever popular fried chicken. I also like cookies, cake, and candy. However, the Zone is a really good lifestyle change for binge eaters. You can eat at least 5 times a day. Oddly, enough with all of the foods in the Zone, you also get large portions of fruits and vegetables. Vegetables have low carbs, like 2 or 4 per serving so it takes alot of them to make 3 blocks. Hang in there Patti. Once you become accustomed to the Zone, you may never want to go back. Just look at Manuel. |

Patti, the zone is a new way of living. i can rattle off all the foods i love... to taste. th elist is pretty common. having said that, i now hate the way most of that stuff makes me feel. i mean i really feel like crap when i eat my starchy and sugary favorite tasting foods. it is not unlike an alcohol hangover. now i have to like the way something tastes and it must make me feel good. that's where the zone and some creativity comes in. it took me some time to get here, but i arrived. i'm glad i did. don't try and invent rome over night, but make sure you put out some effort to build it brick by brick. best wishes! |

| Is there any newer information? It's over a year since the last update. I'm wondering if he has been able to stand up yet. |
