Hello. Today I started implementing the zone into my meals...kind of. I work at a firehouse and wasn't cooking lunch so that was kinda bad but still.

Breakfast 7AM - 4 eggwhites 1 egg yolk. 1 piece of whole wheat bread and some blueberries (about 12-15 of them), cup of coffee small amount of skim milk.

Snack - 10AM - Half a gala apple.

Lunch - Noon - 2 small slices of pizza. It had chicken breasts on it and bbq sauce and cheese.

Snack - 2:40 - The other half of the gala apple and a tablespoon of pb.

4PM workout. Walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes and did weighted pull ups per the scaled down crossfit WOD.

Dinner - 5:30 PM - NY Strip Steak - Trimmed all the fat off and it was the size of my hand. Large Romaine leaf salad with no dressing or anything, cucumbers too. For dessert I had another half of a gala apple.

Not sure what I should have before bed if anything, maybe 4/5 almonds or something?

Besides my coffee at breakfast I only drank water all day and had close to a half a gallon.

According to my zone calculator I am supposed to get 15 blocks a day.

Now I know this day was not perfect, I wasn't planning to be 100% zone. I wanted to test myself to see how hard it would be to go halfway, and honestly it wasn't that hard...yet. :) I will cut out the bread and hopefully have a much better lunch than I had today. On the bright side someone dropped off warm fudge brownies for us this afternoon and I did NOT have one. I'm here to tell you, that alone was a VERY big victory for me as I would kill for a warm brownie.

Tomorrow I will scale it back to be more zone and by the end of this week I should be 100% zone. At least thats my plan....and they do change. lol Thank you in advance for any replies and have a good day.

Hi, Ryker!

Well, I am thinking that you know which foods are favorable and which are unfavorable! Most of your meals contained protein/carb/fat. Except your snacks. When you eat your 1/2 apple, you can also have a block of protein and a block of fat (a tablespoon of peanut butter is probably too much, you may want to scale that back a bit, just check out the block list).

Yes, you would want a bedtime snack. Again, you would want some carb and protein along with your almonds. The number of almonds will depend on whether or not your protein already has added fat to it.

But, just want to congratulate you on turning down the brownies! That is a huge step!

Thanks for the reply. I guess I thought the snacks were not made up the same as the meals for some reason. Funny thing....that seems like a lot of eating. lol I guess thats better than being hungry all the time. I will modify that. Thanks you and sue and the others on here have been very helpful!
