I'm new to the zone and I am confused about my blood test results. Maybe someone can explain these.
I did the serum/plasma phospholipid test. My AA/EPA ratio is 52.5. But my Omega-6/Omega-3 ratio is 1.2. I am not overweight or have any health problems.
The results I got were:
Total Omega-3 29.8
EPA 0.2
DHA 23.5
ALA 0.3
DPA 5.8
EPA + DHA 23.7
AA/EPA Ratio 52.5
Omeaga-6 Total 36.6
AA 10.6
DGLA 5.4
GLA 0.1
Omega-6/Omega-3 Ratio 1.2
Does the Omega-6/Omega-3 Ratio of 1.2 mean that my ratio is good, or does the AA/EPA ratio mean that I'm suffering from silent inflammation?

Thanks

Hi Sylvia,

Your AA/EPA indicates silent inflammation. You can lower your AA/EPA by following the Zone diet and taking Omega Rx or Eico Rx.

Lost 100 lbs 15 yrs ago, off BP meds, thanks to the Zone diet and Zone fish oil. ZoneFast 1-2-3 is the best!
