LOL! |

No, I'm not having a duh day, nor am I confused. You have subsequently edited the post I was replying to, which in turn makes me appear to be giving nonsensical replies. |

Sue, I did not edit the post, and I did not attempt to do anything to make you look bad. |

What makes you think that the post was edited? I told you that I didn't edit it. --Hmmm, at 5:55 pm CST (my computer clock is different than the clock posting on this post), I am editing this post. I posted it in reply to a post that Sue posted but now HER post is missing. Something fishy is definitely going on here! |

I don't know what happened, Cranberrycat. The one you posted stating here's Dr. Sears' take on olive oil originally said Sue and now it says Sue and Karen. I think that's what Sue is referring to. Anyway, I appreciated the article ... it made me come to a final decision. Happy Zoning! Karen |

Well, I have done a lot of posting here today. It is possible that I edited that, but I have no idea why I would have done that. I usually don't end up going back to edit posts unless it is right after I posted and I see something that isn't right. Maybe I edited just as Sue was posting? Might have been enough time elapsed that both you and Sue read my post--but maybe I was not aware that either of you had read it or posted? Isn't that crazy? I really don't remember editing that, but if both of you saw it before, then I just don't know! (or maybe there are evil gremlins out there trying to make us all look bad!) In any case, I have had this happen to me on many occasions in which I have posted and then the person that I posted to goes and deletes his/her thread, sometimes even deleting an entire thread! What a waste of time, replying to someones post and then finding that he/she did not care anymore and deletes all the thought/work that went into posting the reply. FYI, I brought up a few old threads that deal with these edited and deleted posts from a few months ago. |

Personally, Cranberrycat, I think you meant to originally address it to me and mistakenly said Sue. But, you know what, it doesn't matter because I took the information and ran with it anyway. I'm finding this forum to be priceless. What would concern me (as it does you, Cranberrycat) is if an entire thread goes missing. Misaddressing a person's name in a post doesn't bother me (I'm sure I've done it or will do it) - not a big deal, but losing a thread with valuable information - NOT good. Okay, I'm done - I'll shut up. Happy Zoning! Karen |

Well, thanks for understanding, and I do apologize if I misguided anyone on that! Outside of gremlins, I don't know how that could have gotten changed except that I must have done it (but I still don't recall doing it or why I did it!) Thanks again! |

I thought we were free to post anything to anyone at anytime, as long as it wasn't offensive? I wasn't aware that there was such a rule on this forum! |

Developed an allergy to wheat/gluten (IgE response) about two years ago (negative on celiac which is an IgA response). As well as soy. Needless to say its a bit of a challenge because both are in 'everything'.
It becomes easier once you find the substitutions that work.

I hear you Scott..it seems that they are both in everything huh? It is hard too..I tested negative for Celiac but know I have an allergy of sorts to it..and soy..whew..not a good thing for me to have a lot of it...so it does limit the menu a bit!!!! |

Hi Scott and Deb,
If you stick with the more pure and unadulterated foods, you'll quickly see why wheat, gluten in general, and soy intolerances really aren't that limiting in the Zone (as you hinted at, Scott). For medical reasons, my limitations include wheat, all dairy, soy for the most part, and foods that are higher in calcium, especially those which also contain calcium together with a fair amount of phosphorous. I still have tons of possibilities when it comes to food choices!
My best to you both! |

Good Morning Sue and fellow Zoners! I have to really search to find all the possibilities that exist for people like us that need to avoid wheat, dairy and soy.... Actually right now I am going to make the zone chili...and freeze some for later meals. What I have found is that I don't always eat the traditional breakfast these days....I have been having salads with tuna and sometime a frozen meal that I balance out with adding either add'l protein and fat...( I am careful with those though b/c I know most of them have unfavorable carbs and wheat)... I still have ben having cravings..but I hope to get through them... I am determined!!! Have a great day ~Deb |

Good for you, Deb! It is excellent that you are working through your cravings. Sometimes I have dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner. I've done that my whole life - I have whatever I'm in the mood for. Actually, I had dinner for breakfast today! Question for all. I tried finding steel cut oats again yesterday at the store. I didn't find them with the oatmeal. This is where they are located, right? Happy Zoning! Karen |

| The steel cut oats might be located in the natural foods section, ratehr than by the regular oatmeal. |

Hi Deb Sounds good (breakfast food). If you want to post your recent meals here, I'll be glad to take a look and make suggestions on ways to get you back where you were before the meal a few days ago. |

| Sue, you must have missed my post. Why are you asking other forum members to validate why they post questions to you? Seems a bit rude to me. |

Thanks Sue, and you're absolutely right--which is why I'm lucky to have had the Zone knowledge. Unfortunately, when I require a lot of blocks it would be nice to have a Zone shake or bar now and then. Or have a drink out. In addition to wheat and soy, almonds, olives and sesame are also out...so the choice of fats is also a challenge. |
