My dad was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkin´s lymphoma and me and my mom have been feeding him in the zone. He has had a very poor diet in the past maybe 15 years and was a heavy smoker. Most of the time he would just have a cup of coffee and maybe a danish in the mornings and go on all day without food til he came home at night. At the most he would eat a bag of chips or nuts and of course coffee, coke and cigarrettes.
We started him on the Omega Rx and the polyphenols. My question about allergies is because over the past maybe 4 or 5 months he became allergic to seafood and fish, getting rashes all over his body everytime he eats them. My question is, can he take the omega Rx? and if so, would anyone know what the appropriate dose would be? Being a zoner, I know that doses depend a lot on height and weight, etc but i also knwo that sick people take more.
Thanks.

Hi Alicia,

Sorry to hear you dad is having a rough time.

Fish oil dose is determined by a person's level of inflammation. Their height and weight does not figure into it. I've read Barry Sears' reply to a similar qn about fish oil and fish allergies. He wrote that fish oil (an ultra refined concentrated fish oil) should be fine for a person who has fish allergies. I would guess you dad's dose to be 2 or 3 teaspoons (8 to 12 capsules) daily. For confirmation on that I'd suggest you email Wellness Support (the address is in the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of this page.

Not sure if you knew, but I'm a cancer survivor. You dad can do this. My best wishes to your mom and dad!

Hi Sue. Thanks for your reply. No, I didn´t know you were a cancer survivor. I have faith he will be ok because it was diagnosed early.
I will write to see what they tell me about my dad´s dose.
Thank you very much! Have an awesome weekend! ;-)
