Hi everyone! Does anyone have heard about chia seeds? I just bought some to try them, it says it's the best veggie source of omega 3... here are the nutrition facts (per 100 gr) Calories: 330 [Kcal] Protein: 20,7 [g] Carbohydrate: 41,8 [g] Dietary Fiber: 22,1 [g] Total fat: 32,6 [g] OMEGA 6: 6,2 [g] OMEGA 3: 21 [g] I read that the best way to eat it is to leave it half an hour in a glass with water so seeds can liberate the fiber... you must eat all of it (seeds and water, it looks like gelatin). You can mix it with anything cause it doesn't have any flavor, so i'm thinking i'll eat 20 [g] daily with my breakfast instead of almonds (milk with protein powder and a fruit) and of course not leaving my 5 [ml] of Omega Rx... so what do you think? |

| Omega 3's from plant sources are short chain as opposed to the long chain omega 3's found in fish. The human body has to convert plant omega 3's which is an inefficient process. Barry Sears has written that a person is better off sitcking with fish oil to get omega 3. It probably won't make much difference for the Zone, whether or not you eat 20 gr of chia seeds a day. |

| You must be under 40 years old. Chia seeds were the rage in the late 60s when we wet and planted them on little terracotta figures shaped like a sheep as I recall. Within days it would have a full fleece of green. "Chia pets" have been remarketed. I saw them in all kinds of different shapes at RiteAid stores. |
