I'm on day 2 in the zone! So far, I'm loving it. We are really enjoying the convenience and taste of smoothies, but can anyone tell me if there is a brand of blender out there that doesn't rip your eardrums out? I am as conscious of noise pollution as other pollutions, and, as much as I love the smoothies, I dread using this ear-numbing machinery. How about it...any suggestions? Thanks. Spiritdoctor

Kitchen etc has several brands and you can order on-line at http://www.kitchenetc.com/google_2/google_search.cfm?qs=hand%20blender WM

I did some poking around the Kitchen etc Web site myself, and found one that I want to purchase. I’m an appliance freak! With most women, I think that it is clothes or jewelry, but for me it is gadgets/appliances. I copied & pasted the specs below. -Carla ____________________________________________________________________ This immersion blender provides efficient powerful blending at any speed. Its motor is designed for quiet, long-life operation and thoroughly blends both hot and cold foods. The stainless steel blending attachment features a splashguard with air slots to increase flow during blending. Unlike plastic attachments, it won't stain when you work with tomatoes, curries, and berries. Its 8" length allows you to blend in deep pots or pitchers. You'll find this an extremely handy tool for pureeing soups, vegetables, baby food, and beverages. Model KHB100ER Stainless steel blending attachment, motor body and beaker 17" Overall length; 5' Extra long cord Variable speeds from low (1) to high (9) with easy to grasp large dial One-touch power button, press to start, release to stop Includes: blender, blending attachment, 3 cup beaker, lid Ergonomic motor body design for comfortable non-slip grip 2 Ejector buttons make it easy to remove the blending attachment for cleaning or storage Motor body and round cord wipe clean; all other parts are dishwasher safe 60 Hz 1 Year Warranty -Carla

Hi, I have one by Braun that was fairly inexpensive (under $20), yet very sturdy. The portion of the handle with the motor inside screws off enabling easy cleaning. You can simply run it under water to clean. Sue

I have NEVER heard of a woman worrying about a man vacuuming!! Or other housework. On our fridge there is even a magnetic sticky that says "No man was ever shot by a woman while doing dishes". :P I guess you could say doing dishes is a "safety feature" of the kitchen????

But immersion hand blenders can be easily found everywhere. I'm sure there are many comparable ones out there.

I will correct my other post.[/color:837edf6e0b]
