Hi-- I purchased a bag of Atkins bagels today (every now and then, I just gotta have my morning bagel!). I really don't know how to count them though. Would I count it as 1-1/2 miniblocks fat, 1 miniblock carbs, and almost 3 miniblocks protein? Here is the nutritional info for one bagel: Fat: 4.5g Carbs: 19g, 11g fiber---->8g net carbs Protein: 19g Let me know if you need any more info from the label. I just had my first one this morning, so I don't know yet how it will "hold" me, but it was definitely yummy! Thanks.

Hi-I couldn't reply in the forum you posted in. I agree, 19g protein seems very high for a bagel, but I checked the package (and online) and it is 19g! Here is the link for the bagels on the Atkins website: http://atkins.com/shop/products/Atkins_Bakery_Bagels.html

[/quote:49d91661a7] So did the bagel hold you? I also have been experimenting with high protein, high fiber (low net carb) items though I usually prepare them myself with [i:49d91661a7]Atkins Bake Mix [/i:49d91661a7]and [i:49d91661a7]CarbSense[/i:49d91661a7] muffin, hot cereal, and other products. I just recently bought (haven't tried yet) low carb pasta. All these products are high in protein (from soy) and fiber. The only problem with these products is that one might get too much soy in their diet if that's a concern.

At one point Dr. Sears said he wasn't sure if the body could access the protein when in was mixed with carbs. I guess you'd have to see if it held you without adding protein. :) Has anyone tried the new Country Hearth Carb-Counters bread? It's quite good. :) and NOT 6 dollars a loaf!!! R

Yes, it did seem to hold me fine! I ate it with a little lite cream cheese on it, and added some fruit for more carbs (basically I ate 4F and 2C at this meal).
