Hey all,
So I am back to doing the zone again. Of course, last time I did it, my mom was the one cooking for me. SO I am on my own this time. She did the 1-2-3 method which I find more difficult than the block method. So the only thing I do not understand about the block method is if I want to make a salad, it says that 1 head of lettuce is 1 block. Wll heck, I don't know about you all, but I can't eat 1 head of lettuce for lunch. So my question is, how do I make things proportionized if the block is huge (like the lettuce). I hope that makes sense.

My second question is, I am on the go a lot during the day. Besides planning ahead 3-4 days in advance, is there any suggestions on how to make a quick supper at the end of the day?

thanks all! :)

I am back in "the zone" and loving every bit of it! I did the zone about 6 years ago and lost about 25lbs., went down 3 dress sizes and felt amazing! I went to college, didn't follow the zone and gained everything back and more. Now I am back in "the zone" and staying there.

For me I never count lettuce. I consider it a freebie. Count up all the veggies you add to your salad. I usually add some beans and other veggies.

Keep things in the fridge/freezer that are easy to put together. I grill extra chicken and cut it up and use throughout the week to add to salads or to put over some steamed veggies. Turkey meatballs I make in advance also. I have kept them for as long as a month double bagged in the freezer and they tasted fine.

You can buy Turkey or Salmon patties that go straight from the freezer to the grill or pan. Pre cooked chicken strips are available at the grocery store that would work for a quick meal also. Frozen veggies are easier than fresh beacuse you don't have to cut them. I prefer the fresh but always have some frozen for those lazy days.

Matt,
Thank you. I feel a little less pressure now with those tips, especially you saying the salad is a freebie. I know feel a little more confident with my zoning.
