Good afternoon, I have been reading everything I can about The Zone Diet online all morning and an anxious to buy a few books at the book store. Do you have any suggestions on which ones to start with?

I understand that the first book has , and I am not interested in those. I want to learn more about Zone Blocks, meal examples, shopping lists, etc.

I can't wait to hear your suggestions.

Thank You,

Wendy

Hi Wendy

I started with 'A week in the Zone' as it gives a good overview of everything. Its more indepth than the website, but not incredibly detailed so its a pretty quick read.

Once you've read that one you may want to read 'Toxic Fat' and 'The Anti-Inflammation Zone' as these offer more up to date info than the first books and gets into the more detailed information that is helpful when you have the understanding of the basics learned in 'A week...' and from the quick start guide on this website.

For recipes and meal ideas you may like 'Zone Meals in Seconds'...I have that one and have used several recipes from it...but to be honest I get the best recipes from this website and in these forums.

Happy Zoning!

Good choices above!
I found toxic fat and anti-inflammation zone helpful for the rationale.
Zone Meals in Seconds really helps a lot with the meal planning.

Hi Wendy!

Here's part of another a reply I posted recently in these forums:

If you haven't read a Zone book, I'd highly recommend Toxic Fat. After that, the ANTI-INFLAMATION ZONE, and if you want the best shot at learning all the details of the diet itself MASTERING THE ZONE (an excellent book to learn the details of the diet and how to tailor it to you needs, but not a source of current fish oil info , since it is one of the earlier books, written before much of the current fish oil research info was known).

I'm reading Toxic Fat now. It really does clarify the whole rational for the zone diet. He does talk about fish oils quite a lot, though. What's new about them that's not mentioned in the book?

Fish oil is a crucial part of the Zone. Nothing new about fish oil that I know of that doesn't appear in TOXIC FAT, except maybe how sesame oil has now been removed from Omega Rx.
