How do you measure canned food?, for example sardines as there are big cuantities of oil in the can I´m smoker and I have always been taken suplement of C vitaming , since I started the zone diet I cut it down thinking that is not allowed, Am I right. What´s about taken suplements like soia lecithing, yeast beer or wheat germen? Sorry about the english spelling...(bask country) :?

Canned food would be measured the same as fresh. See the "cooked" carb list for veggies, and assume about 1/2 cup canned fruit to a carb block (without added sugar, canned in water or fruit juice). Try to purchase sardines canned in water. If you can't find them, then use the ones in olive oil and drain off the excess oil. A little extra fat will not hinder your Zone efforts (see FAQs about fat on this site). No, you don't have to give up Vitamin C. (But I would consider trying to give up smoking! :) ) It's fine to continue taking soy lecithin, brewer's yeast and small amounts of wheat germ. Happy New Year! [/color:924a5564a3]
