I am trying out the www.fitday.com website, it seems really cool! But, in my goals area I can break it down to total carbs, proteins and fats for the day. So, if I am on 11 block plan, my totals would be 99C, 77P and 33F? I think this is right, but in plugging in my items for breakfast and lunch today, I see I am really nicely balanced but already really getting close to those numbers for the day! I guess this is because their calculator counts all the numbers for each food, so where as we might ignore the fat in an item it counts it all? Does anyone else use this calculator? I like the food diary aspect, it may keep me from making bad choices. I have decided I have the willpower of a gnat.

Hi, I haven't used the calculator you mentioned, but I did try to adapt some cook book software I have to make a cook book of Zone recipies using P/C/F values fom the software. I gave up. Just couldn't make it work out. You know, carbs, fiber, whether the P was from animal or veggie source (whether or not to count it) , etc. But I wanted to say that after you've gotten used to how much of certain foods you eat you won't be all caught up in exact measuring. It really does become second nature , as everyone keeps posting. Sue :D

Hi Sue, I hope you are right, that it will become more 2nd nature. My main problem is that I need tighter control on myself, I do well for a few days then don't. I can't say I have lost any of my carb cravings, and I suspect some of the problem is I was trying to utilize too many of the products like soy pasta, etc. Today I am pretty sure I am right on so far, I hope to keep close track using fitday.com so I don't fool myself. I have gained back weight I lost in the first 2 weeks.

Bazz, i can't remember, are you male or female? Sometimes, we f's can regain some due to menstrual cycles. I know I retain 4 lb. every month, and even when I do things to plan for this, I can't avoid it completely.

Hi - I am a 46 yr. old female, and monthly water weight fluctuations are definitely an issue. But, beyond that, I have not been very dedicated this past week or so... I was doing so well and then just kinda fell apart. So I HAVE truthfully gained back some weight. I am back on track now tho', and I hope to do better this time around. I am still balking a little at the things I can't have, I guess I am not truly in the Zone a fair amount of the time and this week I am trying to be a little more diligent about my choices, going with only favorable carbs, etc. and see what I need to do to reach that great place you all talk about where you don't crave carbs and feel full, etc. Thanks for your input! I love this forum, it is a huge help to me. ~Donna
