Hello Zoners,

My wife and I have been doing the Dr. Sears Zone now for some months in a rather touch and go fashion. We are on the Eico R/X fish oil and are trying to get together on the meals thing. I am very comfortable using proteing powder and bars and shakes. My wife finds that Zoning is way different as far as using the old recipes is concerned. In my search for Zone cookbooks I used Amazon and bought (4) that I thought were Dr. Sears Zone BUT as it turns out (2) were alligned with the Zone Perfect brand of foods or thought or whatever. Once I realzed that those (2) were not actually Dr. Sears products I went on the the Z perfect web site and no where was Dr Sears mentioned.

Any thoughts or comments on this?

Bob

Whether or not it is a Sears Zone book or not, the recipes will be about the same, because they are all based on the zone balance. If the ingredients to your recipes consist of food from a grocery store, I would think it would be fine to use the recipe(s).

I don't know the story behind Sears and Zone Perfect, but apparently at one point there was some kind of relationship.

If anyone who goes to the current Zone Perfect site, you'll find they are no longer really recommending a Zone balance.

I was speaking of the recipes in the book, not regarding the website. I haven't visited that site in years, so I am not aware of the changes there.

Just make sure to look at the ingredients. Do they seem healthy? Lots of low GI carbs, monounsaturated fats? If so I don't see any harm in a Zone recipe book not written by Dr. Sears.
