I'm wondering about the new weight loss drug "Alli". Is it possible to use it in conjunction with the Zone for faster weight loss? Would it take you out of the Zone seeing it's a fat blocker? Also would the Omega 3 fish oil capsules cause "treatment effects" from the drug seeing fish oil is a fat. I'm really confused on this one and I have alot of my friends asking this same question. I see on the home page of DrSears.com that Dr. Sears isn't real big on "Alli". Please let me know.

Blocking fat may affect the balance of proteins, carbs and fat which could alter your ability to control insulin and access body fat for energy. Essential fats such as omega 3’s may also be affected. The Zone is a low fat diet, blocking the heart healthy fats (monounsaturated/omega-3’s) doesn't make much sense. It may be best to spend your $50 on a product that’s proven to improve your heath… fish oil.
If you’re not following the Zone and don’t mind a few “accidents” and extra cleaning bills this drug could be just what you’ve been waiting for.

This diet pill, claims to provide weight loss that “won’t be easy.” This product does not seem to promise particularly fast results, and instead emphasizes gradual weight loss. The accompanying book is intended to act as a companion to the weight loss supplement.

It appears as though this pill, which is said to prevent the absorption of about one-fourth of dietary fat, might take longer to work than consumers might expect. This may be the reason for the marketing of an accompanying book, which apparently features a “low-fat diet” and a “low-intensity, fat burning fitness program” to facilitate maximum weight loss.

Most consumers are aware that a low-fat diet and regular exercise generally prompt weight loss, and we cannot help but wonder whether it is these lifestyle changes, and not the pill, that ultimately will cause weight loss. We will evaluate this product for the validity of its advice, and also discuss some of the potentially painful side effects of the pill. It is reported that some users may want to think twice before taking this pill.

Cons on this pill are:
• Alli might cause “oily stools” for some
• Manufacturer seems to hold consumer responsible for pill side effects
• Alli may cause gastrointestinal discomfort

Doesn't sound good to me if you ask... I rather have a healthy lifestyle than depend on some pill to loose weight...
