I'm confused about Soy. The oil is high in Omega 6 and is not recommended over monounsaturated oils. But soy foods seem highly recommended, and they often are not low in fat. Doesn't a diet with lots of soy add lots of omega 6 to the diet? And although Dr. Sears says add some fish oil, is it enough to compensate, given the high level of omega 6 in soy oil?

Hi John,
Soy foods can be part of a balanced Zone program while limiting your intake of omega 6’s. . Our local grocery store had a variety of low fat and non-fat soy products. Extra firm and firm tofu contains less fat than soft tofu. Examples: Gimme Lean Soy Sausage – Fat Free, Smart Dogs & Smart Bacon – 75% less fat, low fat tofu and Lightlife Smart Dogs – 0 fat. Hope this helps.
